New HMF Polling Shows Trump and Tom Kean Jr. Job Approval Hitting New Lows in NJ-07
March 30, 2026
Washington, D.C. – New comparative polling from House Majority Forward shows Rep. Tom Kean Jr. and Donald Trump’s job approval ratings hitting all-time lows in NJ-07, with both politicians losing ground between February and March 2026.
The results come after House Majority Forward’s February launch of a digital advertising campaign in five congressional districts across the country as part of HMF’s multimillion-dollar healthcare and economic accountability program. The ads specifically called on Rep. Tom Kean Jr. to do his job and stand up for his constituents against RFK Jr.’s dangerous conspiracy theories that are making Americans sicker.
Key findings from HMF’s comparative polling include:
- Tom Kean Jr.’s numbers show he has a weak job approval rating in his own district: In February, only 22% of NJ-07 constituents approved of Tom Kean Jr.’s job performance. By March, his approval had slipped further to 20%.
- Trump’s numbers in the district are underwater and continue to slide.
- Favorability: Trump’s favorability among NJ-07 constituents dropped from 44% favorable / 52% unfavorable in February to 40% favorable / 54% unfavorable in March.
- Job Approval: Trump’s job approval among NJ-07 constituents followed the same trajectory, falling from 46% approve / 52% disapprove to 42% approve / 55% disapprove over the same period.
- Economic Approval: Trump is especially weak on the economy—the top issue for NJ-07 constituents. Approval of his handling of the economy among NJ-07 constituents slipped from 43% to 41% over just one month, while disapproval climbed from 52% to 53%.
- Favorability: Trump’s favorability among NJ-07 constituents dropped from 44% favorable / 52% unfavorable in February to 40% favorable / 54% unfavorable in March.
