House Majority Forward Announces $1 Million Campaign Opposing Kevin McCarthy’s MAGA Default Plan

Washington, D.C. – House Majority Forward is launching a new $1 million digital, research, and messaging campaign in congressional districts across the country opposing Kevin McCarthy’s MAGA default plan to slash veterans benefits, defund law enforcement, drive costs up, and cut Medicaid for 21 million Americans. 

The campaign comes after House Majority Forward released a new television ad in April titled ‘Sink’ which highlighted Speaker McCarthy’s MAGA-Republican demands to wildly slash things America cares about – including education, clean air and water, and cancer research. In February, House Majority Forward launched a six-figure digital and billboard campaign in congressional districts across the country, highlighting how House Republicans are helping hold our economy hostage and urging them to reject extreme cuts to Social Security and Medicare. 

“Speaker McCarthy and MAGA Republicans continue to threaten default and ramp up their extreme demands to slash veterans benefits, defund law enforcement, drive costs up, and cut Medicaid for 21 million Americans,” said House Majority Forward Executive Director Abby Curran Horrell. “Americans don’t negotiate with hostage takers, and they must make their voices loud and clear to Speaker McCarthy – defaulting on America is not an option.”
