NJ-07: House Majority PAC Congratulates Tom Malinowski

November 7, 2018

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC congratulates Representative-Elect Tom Malinowski on his victory in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.

“As an immigrant and a dedicated career public servant, Tom Malinowski knows what it means to fight for the American dream and stand up for hardworking New Jersey families,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Charlie Kelly. “In Congress, he’ll be a tireless advocate for New Jersey – expanding health care and growing our economy. House Majority PAC was thrilled to have played a major role in this race – helping to defeat career politician Leonard Lance and send a true champion of the middle class to Congress.”

The race for NJ-07 was going to be challenging from the outset with an entrenched Republican incumbent. However, with historically Republican suburban districts, like NJ-07, increasingly open to supporting Democrats and a top-notch Democratic candidate in Tom Malinowski this quickly developed into one of 2018’s most competitive races.

House Majority PAC started running a TV ad in August to drive up Lance’s negatives and show voters that there was a clear choice in the race, particularly on the issue of health care. In the fall, HMP launched a second TV ad leaning into Lance’s record as a career politician who has voted more than 60 times to gut affordable health care for his constituents. Additionally, HMP ran a ten-piece direct mail program in the district and partnered with Priorities USA Action on an extensive digital campaign.
