Matt Thornton Named House Majority PAC Communications Director

March 14, 2014

Washington, D.C. – House Majority PAC today announced that Matt Thornton will take over the role of Communications Director from Andy Stone, who is departing for Facebook. Stone has served as House Majority PAC’s Communications Director since 2012.

“Matt has the right combination of experience and savvy to help House Majority PAC hold Republicans accountable and win House seats,” said Executive Director Alixandria Lapp. “Andy has been an invaluable asset to our team. I wish him the best and know that he has laid the groundwork for Matt to step in and excel.”

“From weak candidates to a record of legislative failure, House Republicans have given us ample opportunity to pick up seats,” said Thornton. “I look forward to reminding voters just how ineffective and harmful the Republican majority in the House has been for the country.”

Thornton has over a decade of political experience on campaigns, in Congress, and with independent expenditures. He was most recently the Senior Communications Adviser at American Bridge 21st Century. Prior to that, he served as the Communications Director for Senator Sheldon Whitehouse and Congressman Zack Space. Thornton has worked on campaigns in Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, and West Virginia.

Thornton’s email address is mthornton@thehousemajoritypac.com, direct line is (202) 688-3561 and he can be found on Twitter at @thorntonmh.
