HMP Exposes Career Politician Mike Bost

October 23, 2018

Washington, DC – Today, House Majority PAC launched a new TV ad exposing Mike Bost as a career politician whose voting record hurts the middle class in Southern Illinois.

After 30 years in politics, including in Springfield and Washington, Mike Bost is only protecting his ultra-wealthy and special interest donors. Bost took $120,000 from insurance interests and voted for a disastrous health care plan. The plan would take away coverage from 23 million people, gut protections for pre-existing conditions, and impose a devastating “Age Tax” on older Americans. According to AARP, the “Age Tax” would allow insurance companies to charge Americans aged 50-64 up to five times more than younger consumers.

30 Years” begins running on broadcast today in the St. Louis media market with a buy of approximately $680,000 behind it.

“Career politician Mike Bost has made it clear that he’ll look out for special interests and the ultra-rich over the middle class in Southern Illinois,” said House Majority PAC Press Secretary Hannah Blatt. “Bost’s toxic record speaks for itself – he voted to increase health care costs and is not standing up for hardworking Illinois families or their pocketbooks. Voters know it’s time for Mike Bost to go.”
