HMP Continues Staffing Up for 2016 with Political Desk Hires

Washington, D.C. – Today, House Majority PAC announced the hiring of more key staff for the 2016 election with Trent Armitage and Jerah Smith joining the organization as political desks. 

“With numerous pick-up opportunities for Democrats nationwide, we’re continuing to build an even stronger organization that’s more than ready to take on the outside Republican groups in 2016,” said House Majority PAC Executive Director Alixandria Lapp. “Jerah and Trent have the talent, experience, and know-how to hold House Republicans accountable for their extreme agenda and help bring home wins for Democrats across the country.”    

Trent Armitage most recently served as Executive Director of the Virginia House Democratic Caucus where he led all strategy and spending in state delegate races during the 2015 cycle. In 2013, he served as the Caucus’ Deputy Director and has worked for numerous Democratic campaigns and political organizations. Trent, a native of Connecticut, currently resides in Arlington, VA.

Jerah Smith joins HMP bringing extensive experience on campaigns around the country. Most recently, Jerah managed the re-election of Congressman Raul Ruiz, winning by over 8 points in a Republican-leaning district. Previously, Jerah worked for the DCCC Independent Expenditure in 2010 and on the coordinated campaign for the 2012 cycle. He has also worked for the official office of former Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz as well as her 2014 gubernatorial campaign.
